When a Muslim girl gets bored she has three options: Shop, Eat, or Do her hair/make up. As it's Ramadan and broad daylight I bet you can guess how many I've accomplished. I also bet you can guess what sort of Perplxintexan A.D.D inspired post shall follow. But, worry not your head any longer. Behold Ahmir! They're an up and coming R&B band from the East Coast. I love them for multiple reasons including their dance styles, their matching shoes, their skin color, and vocals. Reminds me of the days when Asians didn't own YouTube, Doug was a lifestyle choice, and being a virgin was a good thing. sigh. But, alas times are a changing and platform shoes have been replaced by death Crocs.
One thing, one thing that won't die though is.... Boy bands.
and the only thing better than boy bands is.... Black boy bands.
and the only thing better than black boy bands is.... Miley Cyrus.
Perhaps not Miley but, she sure did something great in making the Climb. And Ahmir sure did something great in remaking it.
From lesson plans to wedding bands this 2o-something yr. old, she-muslim blogger always begs to differ. The only problem is that between her life as a Kinney-garden (KG) teacher and career as a marriage counselor she tends to skip the small print. Did she forget to mention she's also a full-time student and fitness nutritionist? So she eats her daily vitamins and colors outside the lines to keep her grounded.
Life has taught her she's never the same person two days in a row and will forever enjoy decent conversation, good food, and better books. I'm worth more than I am worthless, so go ahead and read my TMI confessionary tales of time outs, tantrums, and pre-nups.
